Municipality of the District of Yarmouth
I am seeking re-election in District 6.
Three top issues:
- As the former Chairperson of the Cape Forchu Master Plan project, it was wonderful to see when key elements came to fruition, such as the “Climb the Light” and the completion of the Accessibility Ramp to a lookoff attached to the Fog Alarm Building. This project will continue.
- Highway 304 to the Lighthouse, including John’s Cove Beach presents significant risks due to its high and varied traffic volume. Additionally, the lack of awareness among tourists about the hazardous condition of the road and the limited parking at the beach heighten the potential for
accidents. - As a member of the “Coastal Protection Act Municipal Focus Group”, this Group developed a comprehensive plan for Coastal Protection. Serving as the basis for the adoption of a provincial plan, it was then given to Municipalities for their own development. I aim to propose to Council that Coastal Protection becomes a top priority.
All my efforts and goals are grounded in fostering collaboration with all levels of government.
I want to continue moving forward with these and other projects and to represent our people well.
